Lockdown 2020 Update

Since our visit to lovely Claire, Chloe joining us for brunch, cappuccino at an outside table of Caffé Concerto on the 16th of March, and Gin having lunch with us three days later, life has been pure stay-at-home routine. We did not have fever or much dry cough, and our ‘symptoms’ were sore throats, chest pain or pressure, headaches, body aches, dizziness and extreme fatigue, but all more annoying than strictly debilitating. And these lasted for basically two-weeks. So we think we have had the covid-19 and miraculously may have got through it. Otherwise, Richard gets up around 05:00 and begins with his art work; me, an hour later for alternate days of Battersea Park cycling or exercises/yoga at home when not with the bicycle. This is followed by tiresome post-radiation treatment, then bathing, and finally to work – usually emails first, then End of Life work. If the weather is decent, we’ll descend after brunch to the garden for some sun. More physio around 17:00/18:00 followed by more treatment; dinner at 20:00; bed usually by 22:30. And that’s it! Everyday more or less the same, though now we do our own shopping instead of letting Gin do it for us. And we recognise all the same how fortunate we are not to be minding the lockdown at all. Besides missing the seeing of our favourite friends here in London, we are enjoying the isolation and the elimination of distractions & temptations that otherwise would interrupt the work our ‘projects’.
